The Chinese New Year is usually January 21st through Febuary 20th. The Chinese New Year has been celebrated for over 4,000 years. It started from ancient celebrations that celebrated the end of Winter and the begginning of Spring. Chinese New Year symbolizes letting go of the past and welcoming a new beginning. Firecrackers are popular during the Chinese New Year. Dragons dance and street fairs are very popular. Dancers dress up as lions and dragons and perform for onlookers. It usually lasts 15 days.
